Instructor: Terry Henry
After a career as a scientist Terry Henry answered her hearts call to turn to art full time and since the day after her retirement in November 2011 she hasn’t looked back! Terry is a native of California from the community of Los Gatos, she attended college at San Jose State University where she started out as and art student, however her concern for making a living resulted in a career path change to earth science; though all the while nourishing the desire to be and artist. Terry’s art embraces science, as she is best known for her electroforming work, which combines real flowers, insects, fossils with inorganic materials and her lampwork floral designs. Terry’s extensive teaching experience to adult learns in the field of art and science makes her class easy to understand and follow.

Interested in the newest trend in copper jewelry? Explore the endless possibilities of copper electroforming in an easy to understand format. In this class we will be making a customized copper bangle cuff using shells, fossils, metal, glass, rocks, pearls, and cubic zirconia gems. The cuff will be custom fit. Skills include basic electroforming, texturing and stone setting along with sealing, framing, and gluing techniques. Class will break twice during the day to provide time for bonding, and drying. Projects will need to process 48 hours for proper copper deposition. In addition to class resources, students are invited to bring small treasures to use in their creations (all organic materials will need to be sealed with lacquer and dry prior to use. Students will need to return to the classroom Saturday 2/9 at 3:00pm to clean and pick up projects unless other arrangements have been made. Should returning not be an option for a student, arrangements should be make to have it finish it later in the week or have it shipped (small fee will apply).
