Okay, you’ve been asking for years, sooooooo… here it is! Prong Settings! We will cover how to make prongs from scratch, the different tool options available for working with prongs, how to deal with natural stones and calibrated ones and more. Handouts will cover basket setting assembly, prong cutting, and other aspects. In class, we will make a simple basket setting using a cabochon and sterling wire. We will have a break for dinner. A small cabochon will be provided with the class, or you may bring your own (cabochon only) no bigger than 25mm x 25mm x10mm. Must have previous Torch Soldering Experience. Beginning Soldering (Giving on 1/27 or 1/28) works as the prerequisite.
