Merilou Jenkins has been a professional art teacher for over 40 years as well as a professional craftsman and jewelry designer who has been named as an “Illustrious Artist”. She is also the recipient of numerous awards at art shows and internet competitions. Her work has been featured in professional catalogs, magazines and on the covers of national publications. She has a B.A. in Art, an M.A. in Art History and a Juris Doctorate. She has been a practicing attorney in the state of California as well as a state credentialed secondary art teacher. She is heavily involved in teaching others how to create beautiful jewelry as well as continually improving her own craft. Her current emphasis is on creating fused glass specializing in unique and elegant jewelry pieces many of which are encased in 14k gold fill and/or sterling silver wire. The constant theme of her work has always been attention to detail, good craftsmanship and dramatic, yet elegant one-of-a- kind pieces. Her work can be found at several higher end shows throughout California, Arizona and Nevada. She has been an exhibiting artist at the Laguna Beach Art-A- Fair for the past 14 years and has taught wire work aboard a Celebrity cruise ship to Alaska. Both novice and skilled wire workers will benefit from techniques learned in one of Merilou’s classes.

sizes and how to quickly enlarge it if necessary. You will be making an unusual bracelet featuring a sterling silver frame enclosing 14K GF beads. You will be able to re-create this design at home utilizing a variety of different materials (copper? brass?) for a totally different look. All materials and tools will be provided during the workshop so all you need to bring is a willingness to learn! For those of you needing vision assistance you might consider bringing some sort of magnification devise.
