Color, texture, and a mix of media...this 6-hour workshop has it all! Students will explore the magic of polymer color mixing and experiment with surface design techniques to create a vibrant array of polymer petals - then layer a combination of vintage buttons, wire mesh, and punched or textured metal disks to form an eye-catching centerpiece.

Finish the pendant with textured metal tubing wire wrapped into a decorative hanging stick bail -or- add a hidden polymer bail added to wear it as a pin instead. As they progress through each construction stage, students will learn about the benefits of curing polymer in multiple steps, the beauty of “polymer rivets” and simple sanding/buffing tips. They will also have the opportunity to use a circle disc cutter and dapping block to create their own textured metal discs, or they can use pre-cut pieces and focus mainly on polymer experimentation.

A pasta machine and pliers will be available in class to share, but bringing your own is optimal. Clay is underwritten by Polyform, and all other consumable supplies will be provided by the instructor.
