Instructor: Melissa Muir
Melissa Muir was introduced to making jewelry a little more than 10 years ago while living in the Washington, D.C. area and working as a computer programming teacher. Her jewelry making talent came as quite a surprise to her as she had never been involved in any sort of creative art before. It wasn't until she moved to the Akron, Ohio area that she really decided to turn her new talent and passion into a business. Shortly after taking the plunge she began to have pieces published in various books and even authored two articles in Art Jewelry Magazine. While in Ohio, she returned to her true calling of teaching, this time teaching her new love and passion, jewelry making. In an effort to learn about all the great tools in her studio she started her most popular blog feature (www.MelissaMuir.com/blog), Tool Time Tuesday, which has garnered quite a following on her YouTube Channel (www.YouTube.com/c/MelissaMuir) where she now has over 100 videos. Melissa now lives in Utah, just outside of Salt Lake City with her husband and three daughters. She takes on a few teaching opportunities which allows her to travel and meet other amazing creative people. Melissa is currently working on her online presence and workshops including those with Craftsy as well as those offered on her own website. And of course, one of her favorite things to do is play with tools. She has yet to meet a tool she doesn't want to spend more time with.

Have you been considering an Arc Welder for your studio or shop? In this day and a half long workshop come and get your hands-on experience with it and try it all out yourself. We will have a Sunstone Engineering Representative to help answer all of your questions. Bring your pieces and let's give it a try. Have a problem piece that you can't quite figure out? Want to learn how to attach or repair pieces after a stone has already been set and soldering is no longer an option? Well this is the time to experiment. We will have all four types of welders set up so you can try each one to see which will fit your needs best.
Special Notes or requirements:
Bring your own pieces to work on and ask questions about. If you decide to purchase a welder, $150 will be applied to your purchase.
