So now you have come to the bead show and you see wonderful gemstone “donuts”. But, what to do with them? This class will teach you how to create a spectacular piece of jewelry showcasing this type of stone. You will learn how to measure enough wire, how to bind your bundle of wire, learn a bit of wire sculpture and how to make a bail. Wire sculpture is more flowing than regular wire wrapping and gives each piece a unique look all its own. Learn about wire temper, wire gauges and wire shapes as well as all about the necessary tools. You will be working with dead soft wire and will learn how to clean measure and straighten the wire. The class fee includes sterling silver wire, a gemstone of your choice, a jeweler’s polishing cloth, a fleece work surface and a copy of my 12 page instruction book featuring complete instructions with color step by step photographs, all of which is your to take home. All tools will be provided for you to use in class. Class size is limited to 6 so register early!

Yes, you can make your own silver links! In this class, you will be guided through the process of creating handmade silver chain links. Using silver wire, you will create a one to five link chain (up to you), and then attach it to a fine commercial chain, using techniques demonstrated in class to avoid solder flowing up the chain to stiffen it All steps will be carefully demonstrated and explained by an experienced and patient teacher. When you leave class, you will not only have successfully made your first chain necklace—but you will also take with you a comprehensive handout, with fully illustrated step-by-step instructions to help you get started in your home studio. Although this bracelet looks complicated, it can be done by those with little or no wire wrapping experience. Beginners and accomplished wire workers will both enjoy this bracelet. You will not only be proud to wear this home in style, you will also learn how to re-create this stunning bracelet in various sizes. It can also be created using all 14KGF or brass and copper or any combination thereof. Learn about wire temper, wire gauges and wire shapes as well as all about the necessary tools. You will learn how to measure enough wire, how to create a bundle of wire, how to bind a bundle of wire and how to make a clasp. You will receive over 10 feet of sterling silver and 14KGF wire, a jeweler’s polishing cloth, a fleece work surface and a copy of my 12 page instruction book featuring complete instructions with color step by step photographs, all of which is yours to take home. You may have learned how to wrap a cabochon but now you can take it to the next level – you can learn how to do free form sculpting with wire to create elegant and distinctive pieces of jewelry. The final piece can be stand alone as a stunning pendant or you can go on to incorporate it into a necklace for a truly spectacular effect. The results will always be different depending upon the stone you use, the type of wire you use as well as the different sculptural effects you can incorporate into your piece. Yes, you can make rings! In this class, you will be guided through the process of determining the length of metal needed to produce a particular ring size including for a ring that will be textured after soldering. Using various styles of silver wire, you will create three different rings in the same size, to be worn as a set. As time allows, you will add a small cabochon in a pre-made setting to one of the rings. All steps will be carefully demonstrated and explained by an experienced and patient teacher. When you leave class, you will not only have successfully made your first rings—but you will also take with you a comprehensive handout, with fully illustrated step-by-step instructions to help you get started in your home studio. No experience required! This is a basic class and a foundation for many other types of wire wrapping. After this class you will be able to use any size cabochon to create a pendant of any size or shape of pendant. You will be able to vary your designs by adding or subtracting beads or crystals in a number of ways. I will provide many tips so you can produce a beautiful sterling silver wrapped pendant. A black silk cord will be provided so you can proudly wear your creation home! Learn about wire temper, wire gauges and wire shapes as well as all about the necessary tools. You will learn how to measure, cut, clean and straighten your wire, You will also learn how to bundle and wrap your wire as well as how to make a bail. You will be working with half hard wire and will also learn how to twist the wire. Learn to create unusual gold and silver jewelry in this introduction to the ancient Korean art of keum-boo, where 24 kt gold foil is fused to fine silver and patinated to create a unique effect. Keum-boo is a simple but precise process and the instructor for this class will walk you carefully and thoroughly through the process step-by-step, as we all create earrings that are your interpretation of those shown in the illustration. Each step will be carefully demonstrated and explained, but you will be able to bring your own design ideas to the project. Learn to solder, set a faceted stone, and make and attach fine silver granules as you create this beautiful silver pendant. Silver soldering is a multi-step process, but under the guidance of an experienced and patient teacher, you will learn every step as we all create the pendant shown in the illustration—no experience necessary! Skills covered in this class include creating a granule, soldering, setting the faceted gem, and polishing and finishing. Class fee is $95.00. Bracelets can be worn day or night, either alone or stacked together.. This is a basic class that will teach you all of the necessary steps for creating a wire wrapped piece that is a bit different. In this class you will learn about measuring and straightening the wire. You will also learn how to bundle all the wires together and hold everything in place with strategically placed wraps, how to make the clasp and how to determine bracelet sizes for small, medium and larger sized wrists. Learn about wire temper, wire gauges and wire shapes as well as all about the necessary tools. You will be working with both dead soft and half hard wire and will also learn how to twist the wire.
