Swirling Wires Cabochon

for many other types of wire wrapping. After this class you will be able to use any size cabochon
to create a pendant of any size or shape of pendant. You will be able to vary your designs by
adding or subtracting beads or crystals in a number of ways. I will provide many tips so you can
produce a beautiful sterling silver wrapped pendant. You will also learn about wire sculpture. A
black silk cord will be provided so you can proudly wear your creation home!
Learn about wire temper, wire gauges and wire shapes as well as all about the necessary tools.
You will learn how to measure, cut, clean and straighten your wire. You will also learn how to
bundle and wrap your wire as well as how to make a bail. You will be working dead soft wire.
The class fee includes sterling silver wire, a jeweler's polishing cloth, a fleece work surface, a
custom made dichroic glass cabochon, a black silk cord and a copy of my 12 page instruction
book featuring complete instructions with color step by step photographs, all of which is yours to
take home. All you need to do is bring a smile

About Merilou Jenkins
Merilou has been a practicing artist and teacher for over 40 years as well as a professional craftsman and jewelry designer who has been selected as an ?Illustrious Artist? in addition to being the recipient of numerous awards at art shows and national competitions. Her work has been featured in professional catalogs, magazines and on the covers of national publications. She has a B.A. in Art, an M.A. in Art History as well as a Juris Doctorate. She has been a practicing attorney in the state of California as well as a lifetime state credentialed secondary art teacher. She is heavily involved in teaching others how to create beautiful jewelry as well as continually improving her own craft. Her current emphasis is on creating fused glass specializing in unique and elegant jewelry pieces, many of which are encased in 14K gold fill and/or sterling silver wire. The constant theme of her work has always been attention to detail, good craftsmanship and dramatic, yet elegant, one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Her work can be found at several higher end shows throughout California, Arizona and Nevada. She has been an exhibiting artist at the Laguna Beach Art-A-Fair for the past 17 years and has taught wire work aboard a Celebrity cruise ship to Alaska. Both novice and skilled wire workers will benefit from techniques learned in one of Merilou?s classes.
