Silver Sunrise Sterling Dangle Earrings

By Despina ?Espie? Buoncristiani

July 23, 1:00pm – 5:00pm Already passed

Fee: Class: $199 (required)

Skill level: Intermediate

Previous soldering experience is necessary to successfully complete this project.

I hope you can join me to create this lovely pair of Sterling Silver Dangle Earrings! In this class you will be adding texture to your circle halves, and if desired, punching holes to add a bit more depth and interest to your pieces, then refine them. You will also measure and saw the top bars and then refine by filing and sanding them smooth. A texture can also be added to these if you like. The square wire jump rings will be sawn in half and refined. Once all this is done the dangle pieces will be assembled and soldered together. Next you will texture and refine your earwire disks, and carefully solder the sterling earwire to it. Once the earwires are soldered, you will then shape the earwires, then hammer to work harden them. Everything will then be pickled to remove firescale. Finally you will patina your earrings if desired to bring out the textures. If time permits, we will throw them into the tumbler for a few minutes to give them an extra shine. You are going to receive so many compliments when you wear them...I know I did! I try to limit my classes to 6 students, so you will all receive my individual attention.

Class Fee includes Sterling Silver Disks, Sterling Silver Square Wire, Sterling Silver 19g wire, Sterling Silver Square Wire Jump rings. Also covers torch use and fuel along with provided solders. All tools are provided for use in class. Nothing to bring but yourself! Previous soldering experience is necessary to successfully complete this class. About Despina ?Espie? Buoncristiani

Despina Buoncristiani, aka ?Espie? has been intrigued with jewelry making since she was a teenager, taking apart old necklaces and creating new pieces with the vintage beads that were harvested. As an adult, with her graphic design background, it seemed a natural progression for her to revisit her creative past, now utilizing her design skills to create unique jewelry pieces. Despina?s early creations were mostly beaded projects, which she sold during trunk shows at Nordstrom. For the past few years Despina has been working with Metal Clay. She received her Art Clay Silver Level I Instructor Certification in September of 2013 and her Senior Instructor Certification in June of 2014. She has been teaching Metal Clay along with a variety of other jewelry making techniques at local bead shops and shows for the past 8 years. Today Despina enjoys mixing her skills in Metal Clay along with her old school metalsmithing techniques to create one-of-a-kind pieces. ln the pursuit of advancing her skills, she continues to educate herself, learning new techniques which in turn she shares with her students. You can see what Despina has been up to lately by following her on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/DespinaBuoncristianiJewelry and/or Instagram at DespinaBdotcom.
