Dale “Cougar” Armstrong is a rockhound, a lapidary, and a full-time wire jewelry artist, instructor and author with a background in the fine arts, cloisonné and repoussé. With more than 40 years of combined experience, she uses absolutely no solder or glue in her traditional wire jewelry designs, and teaches how at events in North America, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and Switzerland. Author of numerous magazine and Internet articles, and the bestselling book, “Wirework: An Illustrated Guide to the Art of Wire Wrapping”, Dale has also made more than 70 instructional DVDs, is a member of the Beadalon Design Team, and a live product presenter on Jewelry Television. Sparkly or manly? It’s your choice as you learn this unisex ring design that has been around since the age of the Pharaohs. Cougar will teach you her methods of properly sizing this ring EVERY time you make one!! The pattern taught can later be utilized for many cab sizes, as well as for faceted stones. The workshop fee includes teacher fee, student’s choice of cabochon, all necessary silver wire and embellishments for 1 ring and written follow-up instructions.
Special Notes or requirements: Instructor will have tools for everyone to use in class, or you may bring your own: flat, chain and round nose pliers; wire cutters; foot long ruler; work surface; pin vise; ultra fine marker; graduated, smooth metal ring mandrel; rawhide or nylon mallet. Please bring your camera to take photos of difficult steps! Cancellation policy: no refunds will be given after January 13, 2017.
